Brazil is in a good state of health

Brazil is a democratic federal republic with a healthy economy which grew by around 4% in 2007 [source: Foreign & Commonwealth Office]. Since winning the 2006 election President Lula has concentrated on policies to steady inflation, grow the economy and introduce tax incentives for private foreign investors. Investment specialists Goldman Sachs have tipped the country’s economy to grow from the tenth to the fifth largest by 2035.

The government has invested heavily into road and airport infrastructure and a major global tourism drive, while more low-cost airlines are circling the region for new routes. Occupancy rates have reached up to 30 weeks per year, well above the European average.
